College of Arts & Letters Students Earn First-Place Awards at Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum

Eight students whose primary majors are in the College of Art & Letters received first-place awards for their research and creative scholarship presented at Michigan State University’s 28th annual University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum (UURAF). Several other MSU students who received first-place awards were mentored by faculty within the College of Arts & Letters.

Five Students Receive Top Awards for Experience Architecture Program

The Experience Architecture (XA) program at Michigan State University has recognized five students with its top honors for 2026, including the second group of students to receive the Bill Hart-Davidson XA Leadership Award. The 2026 recipients of the Bill Hart-Davidson XA Leadership Award are Alex Guo and Maren O'Connor. The 2026 XA Outstanding Senior Award winners are Zach Anderson, TreShai Hubbard, and Charlotte Miner.

Trixie Smith Awarded Outstanding Service Award by International Writing Centers Association

Trixie Smith, Professor in the Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and American Cultures, was awarded the 2025 International Writing Centers Association (IWCA) Muriel Harris Outstanding Service Award, which recognizes outstanding service that has benefited the writing center community in significant and broad-based ways.

Student-Produced Publication Wins International Award for Excellence

East Lansing's only full-color arts and culture magazine, The Current, which is developed for and by Michigan State University students, has received a 2024 MarCom Gold Award for its June/July 2024 edition. This international recognition celebrates excellence in marketing and communication and recognizes the outstanding work of The Current staff.
