College Receives National Award for Innovative Policies and Programs Supporting Non-Tenure-Track Faculty

Michigan State University’s College of Arts & Letters has been selected as a winner of the 2024 Delphi Award for its dedicated work to include non-tenure-track faculty as full partners through its Charting Pathways of Intellectual Leadership (CPIL) initiative. As a winner of this award, the College of Arts & Letters will receive $15,000 to continue its work to support non-tenure-track faculty in promoting student success.

College Welcomes 41 New Faculty and Staff Members

This year the College of Arts & Letters welcomes 41 new faculty and staff members. These faculty and staff members were recognized during the College of Arts & Letters’ 2024 Faculty and Staff Welcome Reception on Sept. 30 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center.

Associate Dean Remembered for Personal and Professional Impact at MSU and Beyond  

The College of Arts & Letters is mourning the loss of Bill Hart-Davidson, Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies and Professor in the Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Cultures (WRAC). Hart-Davidson, who was beloved both personally and professionally across the College and Michigan State University, passed away suddenly on April 23, 2024. He was 53 years old.

Grace Pregent Named Director of The Writing Center

Grace Pregent, Ph.D., who had been serving as Interim Director of The Writing Center at Michigan State University since June 15, 2023, was named Director of the Center, effective January 1, 2024. A mentor, teacher, and administrator, Pregent is core faculty in Canadian Studies, affiliate faculty in Global Studies, and graduate faculty in the Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Cultures.
