Profile
I am a First-year Doctoral student in Writing Rhetoric and American Culture focusing on Critical Studies in Literacy and Pedagogy. My research interests include how specialized student populations from academically underserved and underrepresented groups will benefit from additional instruction in college-level writing and writing in the disciplines prior to and while attending college through access programs such as dual-enrollment. I am equally interested in developing pre-service and in-service secondary teachers to incorporate college-level writing and writing in the disciplines in their curriculum as well as continue developing transition and First-year writing for dual-enrollment students. As a non-profit founder of Scribe Tribe writing Tutors, I am also greatly interested in how community outreach initiatives can provide academic support in preparing underserved and underrepresented students for college through tutoring writing and mentoring.
