Deborah has piloted culturally inclusive, asset-based assignments for students in her Preparation for College Writing classes. She also teaches Tier-One writing classes for students interested in science and technology. In addition to the books she has published, Deborah has contributed articles and anthology chapters on documentary film and depression-era movies. Prior to becoming the managing editor of The Journal of Popular Culture, she was the associate editor of Film & History: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Film and Television Studies.
