PhD Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the program on regular status, an applicant must:
have a master’s degree or the equivalent, and
have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in graduate level courses.
All admissions decisions are made by the WRAC Graduate Advisory Committee.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria stated above may be admitted provisionally. Conditions for regular admission, including the completion of collateral coursework, must be satisfied during the first year of study.
For full consideration for university and college level fellowships and graduate assistantships all PhD application materials must be in the GAMS system by December 1st.
Please note: The Graduate Program in Rhetoric & Writing does not require or use GRE scores for admission purposes.
